White Industry

About the White Industry

The White Industry refers collectively to the economic fields of snow & ice management, education, equipment & material retailing, wholesaling, and manufacturing.

White Industry professionals are business owners, managers, technicians, researchers, professors, scientists, administrators, sales people, marketers, safety professionals, human resource professionals, mechanics, and laborers. This industry helps keep our world safe. We are proud to be a part of it.

Snow Industry Commitment Award

We were honored to receive the inaugural Snow Industry Commitment Award at the 2010 SIMA Symposium held in Providence, R.I. This award recognizes a SIMA Associate Member who shows great commitment to both SIMA and the snow & ice industry.

Our Involvement in the White Industry

As a consultant to the industry, our mission is to help create healthy, profitable, and sustainable businesses.

Our involvement in the White Industry began in 1985, when our founder and president, Phil Harwood, entered a management training program for a major U.S. retailer specializing in snow & ice management supplies, lawn and garden supplies, landscape plants, tropical plants, home decor, and crafts. Since this time, Mr. Harwood has held positions of increasing responsibility in the White Industry, becoming a well-respected and high-demand industry consultant.

We are proud to support several associations, as supplier members, offering member discounts, speaking at conferences, etc.
